MORENA GALÁN

Morena Galán is an Argentinian singer, recently graduated with her Masters in Opera at Manhattan School of Music. She was part of the ‘Teatro Colón’ and earned a Bachelor of Music from Mannes School of Music and a Classical Voice Technicature at ‘Manuel de Falla’ Conservatory in her hometown, Buenos Aires.
Morena has won the Encouragement Award at the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition (NY District), the ESU XX Singing Competition, American Protégé International Competition and also won national rounds of Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Lirici "Città di Alcamo" in Argentina.
She was recently a Resident Artist with Teatro Nuovo and a part of the Lehrer Studio at Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. Previously, she was part of the Savannah Voice Experience where she worked with Sherill Milnes, among many other professionals.
Performance credits include the title role of Evita at Woodstock Playhouse, Candita (Manita En el Suelo) with The Americas Society, Candelas (El Amor Brujo) with Opera Hispánica and Teatro Grattacielo, La Natura (La Calisto) with Mannes Opera, Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) for Manhattan Opera Studio, Der Trommler (Der Kaiser von Atlantis) and Lindsey in (Godspell), both at Manhattan School of Music and Apparition (Macbeth) with Teatro Nuovo.
As a soloist, Morena has sung at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, New York City Center, and at the Consulate General of Argentina in NY, which also selected her as the one Argentinian to sing and represent them for the Bicentennial Anniversary of Bilateral relations in between Argentina and the United States.
She has sung in various masterclasses with artists such as Frederica Von Stade, Sasha Cooke, Jamie Burton and more and also had the honor to work with conductors Zubin Mehta, Daniela Candillari, George Manahan as well as many others.
