MARC PERSING

TENOR

Marc Persing is in his 22nd season as a full-time member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, where he made his solo debut in 2011 as a Villager in La fille du régiment. Most recently, he performed the role of Welko in Arabella at the Met. Outside of the opera house, Marc appeared as Gamaliel in Upside Down: A Musical Tale After the Christ at his church this past summer.

Marc’s operatic roles include Tamino (Die Zauberflöte, Westminster Opera Theater), Frederic (The Pirates of Penzance, New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players), The Prince (Cinderella by Warren Martin, Light Opera of New Jersey), Ralph Rackstraw (H.M.S. Pinafore, LONJ), Lord Tolloller (Iolanthe, LONJ), and Alexis (The Sorcerer, Simsbury Light Opera). His musical theater credits include Robert in Company and Rapunzel’s Prince in Into the Woods.

Mr. Persing made his Met debut in 2002. He holds a B.M. in Opera Performance from the Hartt School of Music and an M.M. in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College.
