JUAN HERNÁNDEZ
TENOR
Puerto Rican tenor, Juan Hernández, has performed leading roles in opera
and as a concert soloist in the United States and abroad. He has sung
with Cape Town Opera, Sarasota Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Teatro Nuovo,
New Amsterdam Opera, and The Opera Next Door, among others. Juan's
role credits include Nemorino, Ferrando, Conte Almaviva, Don José in
La Carmencita and Federico in Stiffelio.
On the concert stage, Juan has appeared as a soloist in works
including Orff's Carmina Burana and Mozart's Requiem and Vesperae
solennes de confessore with Musica Viva NY, as well as Monteverdi's
Vespro della Beata Vergine and Bach's St. John Passion with The Opera
Next Door.
Juan is an alumnus of the Sarasota Opera Studio Artist Program, Teatro
Nuovo, and the Palm Beach Opera Bailey Apprentice Artist Program. He
is also a prizewinner in competitions including the NATS New York City
District Competition and the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.
